DTEK named the number of workers killed during the war

During the war in Ukraine, 127 DTEK employees died. 4,779 employees serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was announced by the company’s executive director, Dmytro Sakharuk.

Employees of DTEK

According to the general director, the company pays too high a price for having electricity. Thus, 127 employees of DTEK were killed, 319 were wounded, and 46 were missing and four are in captivity.

“In total, 4,779 employees serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces,” he said, and thanked the Ukrainian military and energy workers for protecting and restoring the energy system after massive Russian attacks.

Saharuk also reported that approximately 10% of Ukrainian energy was destroyed as a result of enemy shelling, and about half was damaged.

At the same time, he called air defense a critically necessary component of “energy survival”, since no generating station or substation is adapted to withstand air or artillery strikes.

In Ukraine, the periods of power outages will be shortened in the coming days. The reason for the improvement in the electricity supply situation is the increase in air temperature, as a result of which the consumption of the energy network will decrease.

Russia destroyed approximately 10% of Ukrainian energy

About half of the power system is damaged

As a result of Russian shelling of the Ukrainian energy industry, 10% of the energy system was destroyed. This was announced by the executive director of DTEK Dmytro Sakharuk.

According to him, about half of the power system is still damaged. Dmytro Sakharuk predicted that the power deficit in the energy sector will persist even after the winter, although on a somewhat smaller scale.

He added that currently the deficit of electricity for the population is on average 50%, for industry – a little more.

“Even if we rebuilt everything, the deficit would remain, because the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP with a capacity of 6 GW is not available to us, as well as three TPPs – that’s another 3.6 GW,” he explained.

Dmytro Sakharuk noted that it is necessary to restore damaged large electricity generation facilities, to complete the construction of industrial wind and solar power plants, as well as to increase the volume of electricity imports from Europe in order to increase the level of electricity supply.

He also reported that DTEK continues to complete the construction of one of its wind power plants with a capacity of 100 MW in the south of Ukraine. For this, the company is investing almost 100 million US dollars.
