The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reported that as a result of the full-scale Russian armed aggression in Ukraine, 823 objects of cultural heritage were damaged.
“The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy continues to record the damage to cultural heritage objects in Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression. For the period from February 24, 2022 to August 25, 2023, 823 cultural heritage objects were damaged or destroyed. Among them, objects of national importance – 109, of local significance – 650, newly discovered – 64,” the ministry’s press service reported.
In particular, architectural monuments are 252 objects, architecture and urban planning – 244, history – 199, architecture and urban planning, history – 32, architecture, history – 30, archeology – 20, monumental art – 19, urban planning, monumental art – 17, urban planning – 5, science and technology – 2, garden and park art – 1, architecture and urban planning, monumental art – 1, architecture, monumental art – 1.
It is noted that according to the data of the regional military administrations, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 23 monuments were completely destroyed, 636 monuments were partially damaged, and the degree of damage to 164 objects remains unknown.
