During the occupation, the Russian military captured a former participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Eastern Ukraine.
This happened in the village of Ivanchukivka, Izyum district, in April 2022. Armed Russians broke into the house of a local resident.
“They conducted a search, demanding to hand over firearms and Ukrainian symbols. After that, the man was taken away in an unknown direction,” the police said.
The former participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Eastern Ukraine did not return home alive. In 2023, his body was returned to his homeland during repatriation. Law enforcement officers identified the war criminals who kidnapped the resident of Ivanchukivka. This is a 26-year-old commander of the automobile detachment of military unit No. 52562 of the 26th tank regiment, a 39-year-old platoon commander of military unit No. 54096, and a 37-year-old deputy platoon commander of the same military unit. They were informed in absentia of suspicion of committing a war crime.
