During the two years of the full-scale war, the Russian Federation exported 15 million tons of grain from the occupied Ukrainian territories

During the two years of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation was able to collect and export more than 10 million tons of wheat and approximately 5 million tons of corn and sunflowers from the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. The income from the export of this amount of grain is approximately 7.085 billion dollars.

In particular, in the spring of 2022, the Russian occupiers confiscated or bought for nothing the remaining grain from Ukrainian farmers in the occupied territories and stole the grain that remained in elevators and warehouses. In the spring of 2022, the Russians independently sowed the occupied lands and harvested them.

Grain from the temporarily occupied separate territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Luhansk regions is mainly exported by Russians to Crimea or Russian cities. In particular, satellite images regularly show huge accumulations of grain trucks near the grain terminal in Sevastopol and Kerch.

The Russian Federation exported Ukrainian grain almost without problems thanks to an established network of buyers and well-developed logistics chains. In addition, the ports of the peninsula temporarily occupied by Russia have greater capacity and were not affected by military operations.
