Activities of the language ombudsman in times of war

According to the commissioner for the protection of the state language, on February 24, 2022, after the start of a full-scale war on the territory of Ukraine, the office of the language ombudsman defined several priorities in its activities.

This is, in particular, the collection of facts of lingucide and the maximum delivery of this information to the world.

Linguicide in the occupied territories

The organization headed by Taras Kremin collects information about all facts of linguistic linguicide in the newly occupied territories during the full-scale war.

The language ombudsman named the most common cases — replacement of signs with the names of cities, burning of books, expulsion of Ukrainian from the school curriculum, camps for teachers, mobile propaganda TV studios, etc.

In just one year of the great war, about 200 facts of genocide of Ukrainians on the basis of language were recorded.

We will remind that the Russian military, according to the information of the Center of National Resistance, is trying to destroy Ukrainian libraries.
