After the latest series of shelling by the Russian Federation on February 7, the situation in the country’s energy system remains critical. Energy facilities in many regions have been attacked, damage to high-voltage substations has led to the unloading of nuclear power plants, which is why emergency shutdowns continue in most regions.
Impact on electricity supply in Volyn region: Capacity shortage: A significant decrease in available generation has caused a capacity shortage in the region. Existing resources do not allow to fully meet consumer needs. Emergency shutdowns: Along with planned shutdowns, according to the order of the dispatcher of NPP Ukrenergo, emergency shutdown schedules are used to prevent system accidents. Schedule inconsistency: The increase in the volume of restrictions and the application of emergency shutdown schedules makes it difficult to comply with hourly schedules. Additional shutdowns are carried out promptly to maintain the system balance, as a result of which the actual state of the network may differ from the schedule.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine confirms: the situation with electricity supply remains critical. The loss of power due to night attacks has exacerbated the deficit, making it impossible to quickly eliminate it, which causes difficult days ahead.
Ensuring stable energy distribution is a common goal, since each emergency mode is a test of the strength of both equipment and human resources. We are all working together to preserve the unity of the power grid.
