On the night of March 8, 2025, Kyiv was again attacked by Russian drones and cruise missiles. Loud explosions were heard in the city, which were caused by hits by Shahed kamikaze drones. The air defense forces of Ukraine reacted quickly, trying to destroy the threat.
Several residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of the attack. In particular, a fire broke out in the Podilskyi district, which broke out in the territory of an industrial zone. The fire was quickly localized and extinguished by rescuers. There is currently no information about victims, but the material damage is significant.
Explosions were recorded not only in the capital, but also in the suburbs. In the Kyiv region, drones attacked the Brovarskyi and Buchanskyi districts. According to official information, an outbuilding was destroyed in one of the settlements, and three cars were damaged.
The head of the Kyiv regional military administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, noted that thanks to the effective work of the air defense, large-scale destruction and casualties among the civilian population were avoided.
Rescuers, utility services, and emergency services are working on the ground. The main efforts are aimed at eliminating damage and ensuring the stable operation of critical infrastructure.
