Explosions recorded near the Zaporizhzhia NPP: IAEA warns of growing nuclear threat

Explosions were recorded near the Zaporizhzhia NPP on October 6, increasing the risks of nuclear danger, as the station has been operating without external power supply for almost two weeks.

This was reported by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, referring to the data of the expert group present at the ZNPP.

The IAEA group recorded several incoming and outgoing shells from the site adjacent to the plant. Two shells exploded 1.25 km from the perimeter of the ZNPP.

These shells increase the risks to nuclear safety, as the plant remains vulnerable due to the lack of external power supply since September 23, 2025.
