Falling debris as a result of the night attack was recorded in two districts of the Kyiv region

Falling debris as a result of a night rocket attack by Russia was recorded in two districts of the Kyiv region. Such data was made public by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, as of 18:00.

He stated that there were no hits to residential and critical infrastructure facilities.

Damage was recorded in one of the districts:

  • 4 multi-story residential buildings have broken windows;
  • a private house has damaged gables and broken windows. One car was also damaged;
  • windows and facades were cut at two gas stations;
  • in a multi-story building with office premises, doors, windows, and a chopped facade are broken;
  • windows were damaged by the blast wave at the utility company;
  • windows were broken in one of the shopping centers and cafes;
  • broken windows and frames in the warehouse;
  • windows were also damaged at 4 enterprises.

Also, the Kyiv regional military administration reported that a forester’s house was damaged near Kyiv, in the Brovar district. They also showed a huge gash at the place where the Russian target fell near the forest – fortunately, no one was hurt during the attack.

In another area, fragments of a Russian target were found on a private property. There were no casualties or damage.

Operational services continue to work to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

On the night of August 6, the Russians hit the Kyiv region with 4 Iskander-M and/or KN-23 ballistic missiles (these are North Korean missiles) from the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation, and two more Kh-59 guided air missiles – from water areas of the Sea of Azov. 15 attack UAVs were also used. According to the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, anti-aircraft fire destroyed all objects.

Taking into account the fact that the Russians used almost the entire arsenal – cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles – for the task of launching a missile attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region, it cannot be ruled out that the Russian Federation is again trying to feel the weak links in the capital’s air defense. The most dangerous of all missiles used on August 5 is “Iskander-M” – it is a ballistic missile that rises almost to the stratosphere, from where it returns at high speed. It carries a large warhead, about 500 kg (like the “Dagger”), in case of a hit, it causes damage in a radius of 60 m. Moreover, it is maneuverable, capable of evading air defense systems – however, Ukrainian systems are able to cope with it.
