
As a result of the arrival of a drone on the evening of August 28, a large-scale fire broke out in the village of Myla in Kyiv region with the detonation of explosives. There are dead and injured among local residents, but the authorities do not name the exact number of victims.

The scale of the fire can be judged by the fact that a column of smoke and flames was visible from some areas of the capital. Rescuers tried to extinguish the fire all night, but on Saturday morning everything was still burning there. Unfortunately, the UAV hit resulted not only in material but also human casualties. The exact number of dead and injured is currently unknown.

As a result of the strike, there are dead and injured people, and private houses were damaged. Almost four hundred people, including children, were evacuated from the area where it was dangerous to stay. Due to the emergency situation, traffic restrictions were also introduced on the Kyiv-Chop highway section.
The fire was a consequence of the Russian attack. According to him, warehouse facilities caught fire in the Buchanskyі district, and the fire was accompanied by numerous explosions.
According to preliminary information from the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, at approximately 20:10 on August 28, a Russian drone fell or hit the territory of one of the enterprises in the village of Myla. It is not yet known what type of drone the Russian Federation used.
After the drone fell, a large-scale fire broke out at the enterprise, and later a detonation began. Due to the threat of new explosions, neither rescuers nor law enforcement officers could initially approach the center of the fire. The Kyiv region police emphasized that being near the scene was dangerous, as the detonation was ongoing.
A little later, an operational headquarters was created directly in the area of the attack. Units of the State Emergency Service, police, medics, and other emergency services were involved in the work.
The fire spread from the enterprise to nearby residential buildings. One private house was completely destroyed, seven more homes were damaged. In addition, a boarding house where elderly people live was damaged.
Rescuers managed to eliminate the fire in five private houses, as well as in a public catering establishment. Unfortunately, there are dead and injured civilians.
Civilians are prohibited from entering the area where the incident occurred. Only rescuers and other emergency services are working there.
Law enforcement officers are investigating the causes of the large-scale detonation. Investigators must establish not only the circumstances of the Russian attack itself, but also the factors that could have contributed to the spread of fire and a large-scale detonation on the territory of the enterprise.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Article 437 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine into the fact of the Russian Federation waging an aggressive war. Separately, investigators are checking possible official negligence under Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
