First time hit with “Daggers”, the most massive attack on Odessa region

On December 13-14, for two nights in a row, Odessa experienced the most massive attack since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Russia used “Daggers” for the first time along with cruise missiles, ballistics and drones. Part of the city was left without electricity, heat and water supply.

Serhiy Bratchuk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army “South”, explained that the Russians used the tactic of multiple strikes on the same objects where rescuers were working. In total, four people were injured.

Civil, energy and industrial infrastructure facilities were hit in the city. Indestructible points have also been deployed, the city and regional military administrations are working according to a clear algorithm, and critical infrastructure is connected to alternative sources.

Medical facilities worked without a break, and patrol police are also actively performing their functions.

I thank the air defense and rescuers who performed their duties even under Russian attacks. We managed to extinguish the fires that arose from the damage and debris of downed missiles and drones, – said Bratchuk.

The head of the city’s military administration, Serhiy Lysak, called on Odessa businesses to open their doors to citizens so that they could charge their gadgets and contact their relatives.

“The most important thing is that there are no fatalities, and I wish the injured a speedy recovery,” – said Bratchuk.

The Russians attacked the entire Odessa region to plunge it into a blackout. Now energy workers are actively eliminating the consequences.

Some bloggers and media online showed footage of the attack. The Russians could have used this material to adjust the strikes, which probably delayed the attack.

This is not even a double strike. They worked on one location, struck another, and repeated again. The Russians acted in bursts, as on the front, – explained Bratchuk.

The drones were launched from the occupied Crimea and from Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation. The Russians took short breaks between attacks, although the alarm practically did not stop all night.

Among the damaged vehicles is also a fire engine that was damaged during the Russian actions and repeated strikes.
