On May 9, in Kyiv again from four o’clock in the morning, the sounds of an air alarm sounded, the Russians once again launched their missiles from the waters of the Caspian Sea On May 8, the Russians deliberately launched a record number of drones to wear out Ukrainian air defense. And that night, rockets from the Caspian Sea were fired at the Ukrainian capital. But their plans failed in an instant.
Because the anti-aircraft defense of Kyiv worked perfectly. Information about the shooting down of all enemy missiles was confirmed on the morning of May 9 by the Kyiv City State Administration. “According to preliminary information, about one and a half dozen enemy air targets were detected and destroyed in the airspace around Kyiv! No hits were allowed. Preliminary, there were no casualties or serious destruction due to falling debris. The information is being updated and clarified. We thank our Air Defense Forces for saving the lives of the people of Kyiv.” – said in the morning message from the Kyiv City State Administration.
In the morning, residents of Kyiv and guests of the city also publish photos with fragments of Russian rockets, which they collect right on the street. It also became known by the morning that fragments of one of the Russian missiles damaged a field with strawberries in the Holosiiv district of the capital. The photo with the wreckage was published on the official page of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. According to the Air Force of Ukraine, on the night of May 9, 23 out of 25 missiles were destroyed in the sky over Ukraine.
So, around 10 o’clock in the evening, Russian troops launched eight Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea at the eastern regions of Ukraine. They were all destroyed. Closer to four in the morning, the invaders fired 17 more Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, 15 of them were destroyed.
On the night of May 8, more than 30 enemy drones were detected and destroyed in the airspace of Kyiv. Their debris damaged houses, road surfaces, and cars. This attack became the most massive for all the times when the Russians launched drones over the Ukrainian capital.
