Foreigners from almost 50 countries captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Hundreds of foreigners from over 48 countries around the world are in Ukrainian captivity, whom Russia has drawn into the war against Ukraine through deception, financial manipulation and psychological pressure.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The Foreign Ministry stated that a special resource stoprussianrecruiters.org was created to expose the large-scale system of recruiting foreigners by Russia.
The platform publishes information on the schemes of Russian recruiters, the geography of recruiting mercenaries, as well as data on individuals working in the interests of the Kremlin in different countries of the world.
“Russia is increasingly actively involving citizens of other countries in the war: labor migrants, the unemployed, representatives of socially vulnerable groups from countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
The department emphasized that financial promises, psychological pressure, and outright deception are used to recruit foreigners.
According to the state project “I Want to Live”, it has now been possible to identify more than 28 thousand foreigners who signed contracts with the Russian Armed Forces.
At least 5,149 of them have already died in the war against Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the launch of the resource should help warn potential victims of recruitment and draw the attention of the international community to the activities of Russian recruitment networks.
