Forests are burning: the Russians are dropping cans with an incendiary mixture on the territory of Ukraine

The Russians drop cans with an incendiary mixture on the border territories of the Sumy region, which provoke a fire.

This was reported by the Northern Forestry Office of the state enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”.

Russians drop cans with incendiary mixtures

In the forests of the Svesky forestry in the north of the Sumy region, cans with an incendiary mixture were found, which the Russians dropped on the territory of Ukraine with the help of drones. Foresters note that when these containers fall to the ground, they often break and cause fires. As a result, forest fires occur.

Every day, up to 5 fires occur in forests, in particular because of such cans. Foresters say that they lay mineralized strips to contain the fire in those places where the military allows. However, due to hostilities in many areas of the forest, it is not possible to do this.

Fires in the Sumy region

Local residents say that the northern part of the region has been in smoke for more than a week, and there is also a persistent smell of burning. In the morning and evening, the smoke becomes thicker, it is difficult to breathe outside.

The Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Sumy Region notes that, in addition to rescuers, foresters, employees of local fire brigades, agricultural enterprises, and residents of settlements where fires occur take part in extinguishing fires in the region’s ecosystems.
