Four civilian planes destroyed in Dnipro due to Russian attack: over $100 million in damage

The Russian military during the Shahed strike on the Dnipro on the night of April 4, among other things, hit the city’s airport. As a result of the strike in the airport hangar, four civilian planes were destroyed.

This was reported by the head of the consulting company Friendly Avia Support, Oleksandr Lanetsky.

“One of the Shaheds hit the hangar, which was used by the aircraft repair unit of the Windrose airline before the war. As a result of the hit, the hangar completely burned down, and with it four civilian planes: Airbus 321, Airbus 320, ATR72. One business jet was also destroyed. The airline hid the planes in the hangar to somehow protect them during the war, but it did not help,” Lanetsky said.

According to him, the total damage from the fire in the airport hangar could exceed $100 million. Lanetsky believes that this is the “biggest loss of Ukrainian airlines” after the battles for Gostomel airport in February-March 2022, where, as we recall, the only copy of the world’s largest aircraft, the AN225 “Mriya”, was destroyed.
