High probability of shelling and destruction of infrastructure: the regional military administration urged residents of Kherson region to evacuate

There remains a high probability of enemy shelling in the right-bank Kherson region.

This was announced by the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Yaroslav Yanushevich.

– Dear residents of Kherson and liberated settlements of the region! The Russian army, when fleeing, begins to fight with peaceful people out of hopelessness. We have seen this many times in many liberated settlements, – says Yanushevich.

In addition, he noted that before fleeing, the occupiers caused serious damage to critical infrastructure that provides electricity, heat and water supply. – Therefore, we strongly recommend that you evacuate to safer regions. Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet declares that 22 educational institutions were destroyed and 84 were damaged in the de-occupied territory of the Kherson region.

“Today in the de-occupied territory, as of Friday, we had 16 territorial communities in which 137 schools were located, including 59 in the city of Kherson. There were 130 kindergartens for pre-school education, 75 of them in Kherson. There were 12 institutions of vocational schools , of which 9 are in Kherson. We have destroyed 22 institutions – these are 14 schools, 5 kindergartens and 5 vocational institutions, and others have damage from 50% to 90%,” said Shkarlet.

According to him, 84 educational institutions were also damaged in these territories, including 48 schools, 23 kindergartens, 5 vocational schools, and 2 institutions of higher education.

The minister noted that the greatest amount of damage to educational infrastructure was in rural areas, as well as the material and technical base of institutions was destroyed.

“Most of the de-occupied territories are located at a distance from fire damage, so free access to buildings for assessing the technical condition is currently limited,” he said. Regarding the educational process in the region, Shkarlet said that 157 schools have started online education, of which 87 institutions are already in the de-occupied territory.

While there is no confirmation that this is the result of a massacre, an investigation must be conducted.

Traces of probable mass burials were found at the city cemetery in Kherson. The exact number of people buried in the graves, as well as the causes of their death, are still unknown.

The dates of death on some graves are late February and early March 2022. The reasons for their death should be established by the investigating authorities.

Kherson and almost 90% of the region were captured by the Russian occupying forces on March 2. Over the course of several days after February 24, the enemy penetrated the territory of southern Ukraine almost 300 kilometers deep. On November 11, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed that Kherson is returning to the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ukrainian flag was raised in the city center.

Bersylav district is almost completely mined.

In the liberated Berislav district of the Kherson region, the Russian occupiers mined almost all critical infrastructure objects, forest strips, residential buildings and medical institutions.

Volodymyr Litvinov, the head of the Berislav district military administration, announced this.

He said that stabilization measures continue in the liberated settlements. Russian troops continue to shell Berislavsky district, so it is very difficult to clear the territory and critical infrastructure objects. “In the city of Berislav, Russian troops blew up high-voltage power lines, about one and a half kilometers of poles and lines were destroyed. Therefore, the city remains without electricity, and there is also no gas and water supply. In addition, there are 11 water wells in the city of Berislav, there is information that some of them are mined Litvinov noted.

As of the morning of November 12, the Armed Forces liberated more than 3,000 square kilometers in the south. According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces have already approached the Dnipro River in certain areas of the Kherson region.
