American historian Timothy Snyder commented on the Russian attack on Kharkiv, as a result of which the printing press of the Vivat publishing house, where people were located, was damaged.
“Russia fired at the pearl of modern European culture – the Kharkiv publishing house Vivat, killing employees and setting fire to the premises. This is an example of a larger policy of genocide,” he wrote.
It will be recalled that on May 23, the Vivat publishing house, where people were at the time, came under Russian fire in Kharkiv.
“The Russians hit a civilian enterprise that is engaged in ordinary printing… There is a fire in a paper workshop,” wrote the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
As of the time of publication of the news, it was known about six dead and 16 wounded.
