How the residents of Nikopol survive under constant shelling by Russian troops

Russian troops bombard Nikopol with heavy artillery and attack with kamikaze drones almost every day. Last time, Russians vandalized residents’ homes and city infrastructure. The Russians covered the central part of the city with artillery shells. Residential buildings and city services were hit. A branch of the employment center was hit with ammunition. The roof and the second floor were also partially destroyed.

“After the conclusions of the commission, we will make a decision. Perhaps people will be evacuated and will work remotely in other places where employment centers have been created in our country. This is Tomakivka and the city of Pokrov,” said Valery Dudnik, deputy director of the Dnipropetrovsk regional employment center.

The city does not have time to recover from continuous enemy attacks. Despite this, utilities are working as usual. “Of course, shelling, but people live. We try to do everything for them so that it is clean and beautiful, so that they are not afraid to walk and, no matter what, the garden remains clean and tidy,” shared Yulia, a representative of the Nikopol utility company.

According to the head of the district military administration, in general, the security situation in Nikopol region remains difficult. Every night the Russians attack the city with artillery, and every day with kamikaze drones. “These are the combat units, which consist of Russian Guard soldiers, special forces, and soldiers of the armed forces of the Russian Federation. All of them have different tasks, some protect the station based on it, some are engaged in artillery damage to our territories and launch of kamikaze drones.

What is the influx of drones to do with? First, they learn. The Russians consider our territory as a training ground for pilots, who then go to the Zaporіzhzhіа region,” said Yevhen Yevtushenko, head of the Nikopol District Military Administration.
