The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine stated that over the past 500 days of the full-scale invasion, three times more civilians have died than in all the previous 8 years of hostilities in eastern Ukraine
This was reported by the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine on July 7.

It is said to have confirmed the death of at least 9,000 civilians, including more than 500 children, since the full-scale Russian invasion, but warned that the actual number of victims could be much higher.
“Today we mark another sad milestone in the war, which continues to result in terrible losses of the civilian population of Ukraine,” said Noel Calhoun, deputy head of the UN Monitoring Mission on Human Rights in Ukraine.
In addition, she noted that the total monthly number of dead and injured persons decreased at the beginning of this year compared to the previous one, but in May and June their average number increased again.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary Dicarlo said that in May, the Russian Federation hit the entire territory of Ukraine with missiles and drones almost three times more often.
