In Donetsk region, 470 hectares of forest were destroyed as a result of enemy shelling

At the beginning of May, after another series of attacks by the Russian Federation on the outskirts of the city of Liman, 5 fires broke out in the forest areas. The forest floor and dry trees caught fire, and the fire quickly spread throughout the Lymansky and Yampilsk forestry enterprises of the state enterprise “Lyman Forestry”. In addition, explosive objects and mines made it difficult to extinguish the fire and contributed to its further spread.

Rescuers, forest guards of the Lyman forest farm and the military were involved in extinguishing the fire. Aerial reconnaissance was also carried out by the branch of the UAV sector and demining by pyrotechnic calculation of the State Emergency Service.

Foresters created 35 km of mineralized strips along the fire front to contain the fire, which prevented the fire from spreading to a larger area.

The fight against the fiery element lasted more than 10 hours. The fire on an area of 470 hectares was extinguished.
