As of May 12, a coal mine in the Donetsk region was cut off due to enemy attacks. On the other hand, in the Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions, energy companies managed to restore electricity to consumers.
This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
Russian invaders continue to attack the energy infrastructure of Ukraine in the front-line and border territories with the Russian Federation. Therefore, yesterday in Donetsk region, a coal mine was de-energized due to enemy shelling.
In addition, some consumers in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions also remain without power due to damage caused by hostilities.
At the same time, the energy industry, despite the difficult security situation, continues to restore energy supply. It was possible to restore electricity to 22,500 consumers within a day. Most of them are subscribers in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy and Donetsk regions.
According to the Ministry of Energy, in general, the energy system of Ukraine works stably.
We would like to remind you that during the last few days, some mass media have been spreading information about the fact that on May 15, hourly electricity blackouts will again operate in Ukraine. The Ministry of Energy denied this information.
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that the information about the return of hourly electricity blackouts to household consumers is not true.
“It is not planned to introduce any schedules of electricity supply restrictions,” the relevant ministry emphasized.
Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko noted that for almost three months, despite the shelling of the Russians, Ukraine’s energy system has been working, fully providing consumption for Ukrainians.
“Thanks to the coordinated work of all types of generation, it was possible to cancel restrictions on the supply of electricity to consumers,” he said.
The head of the Ministry of Energy added that the energy system is currently being actively prepared for the new heating season.
At present, disconnection of consumers from electricity supply can occur exclusively as a result of damage by the Russian occupiers to generation facilities and network infrastructure.
