The number of people injured as a result of the Russian missile attack on Kharkiv, carried out on the evening of January 16, has increased to 17 people, of whom 2 are in serious condition.
This was announced by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov: “The number of people injured as a result of the attack by the Russian Federation has increased to 17 people. 2 women remain in a serious condition. 12 people are also hospitalized, they are in a medical institution in medium and light conditions. Three people refused hospitalization, they were given medical assistance on the spot.”
Chairman of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov reported that at least 10 residential buildings were damaged.
“The attack on the center of Kharkiv is exclusively terrorist in nature. At least ten residential buildings were damaged, and this is only according to preliminary information. In the morning, the department of housing and communal services will inspect the perimeter of today’s shelling and the information will be clarified,” he said. According to Terekhov, rescuers continue to dismantle the rubble, of which there are many. According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the Russian forces struck the center of Kharkiv with two missiles, previously S-300. Civilian residential infrastructure and high-rise buildings were damaged as a result of the attack in the middle of the city.
At the same time, the head of the police of the Kharkiv region, Volodymyr Tymoshko, said that Russian troops hit the roadway and a three-story residential building.
“There are no military personnel among the wounded, all are civilians. Hitting a civilian object in which ordinary residents of Kharkiv live, in the center, which again indicates that this is a terrorist act with the aim of intimidation and destruction of the population. This is genocide. This is an old building,” said Tymoshko.
According to him, two floors of the medical facility opposite the building hit by the Russian rocket were on fire. No personnel were injured, and there were no patients at the time of the impact.
