More than 500 retail facilities at the Barabashovo market came under attack by the Russian army on the night of October 1 in Kharkiv. About 100 of them were completely destroyed.
This was reported by the president of the AVEK and Co. Concern Andriy Vinakov.
“More than 500 facilities with a total area of over 20 thousand square meters were damaged in one way or another. These are the consequences of this strike,” said Andriy Vinakov.
The epicenter of the explosion was the territory of the “Textile Hub”, while the shopping malls where shoes and chandeliers were sold were also affected.
“We are repairing what was damaged on our own. We hope that we will do it in the near future. Entrepreneurs who were working will continue to work. As for the entrepreneurs who worked on the fabric trading rows, we offered them new facilities, where they are ready to move. This will be a different location,” said Andriy Vinakov.
According to him, during the full-scale invasion, Russian troops struck the Barabashovo shopping center eight times.
“As a result of this attack, 6 fires occurred. The market area, the private housing sector, the garage cooperative, and other facilities were damaged. More than 200 rescuers and 46 units of SES equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the terrorist attack, including psychologists, pyrotechnic and canine teams, as well as firefighters from the Tsyrkunivka volunteer fire brigade. At 12:53 on October 1, rescuers managed to completely extinguish the fires caused by Russian shelling,” the Kharkiv Region SES Headquarters reported.
