As a result of a missile strike by the Russian army on Kharkiv on March 1, the building of the Kharkiv National University of Arts named after I. P. Kotlyarevskyі was damaged.

This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

According to the department, the dormitory of the educational institution was damaged. The central building in the building was also damaged, and the windows were damaged.

Kharkiv National University of Arts named after I. P. Kotlyarevskyі is one of the leading higher education institutions of Ukraine, a creative and scientific and methodological center of musical and theatrical education in the Slobozhanshchyna region with over a century of history.

In addition, the university is a member of the European Association of Conservatories, the European Association of Universities, and the European League of Universities of the Arts.

The Ministry of Culture recalled that the institution had already been damaged during the first Russian shelling of Kharkiv in the spring of 2022. Then the roof was damaged, windows were broken, and pipes and batteries cracked due to prolonged exposure to sub-zero temperatures and rain.
