The “Epicenter” shopping center in Kherson completely burned down as a result of the shelling of the city by the Russian occupiers, the company “Epicenter K” reported.
“It is very painful to realize that we lost the place where we worked for many years (…) In one night it turned into a fire. Hundreds of people lost their jobs, and thousands more will not have the opportunity to provide themselves with the most important goods,” commented the acting official Director of Trade Center Denys Lytvynov.
According to him, it was not possible to localize the fire that broke out after the shelling because it hit the gas supply source.
Employees of the shopping center who have lost their jobs will be provided with the necessary support, the company emphasized.
The work of the “Epicentr” shopping center in Kherson was resumed after the deoccupation of the city. Network facilities continue to operate where possible. The company also expressed readiness to rebuild the destroyed objects of the network.

The company “Epicenter K” was established in 2003, opened its first hypermarket in Kyiv in December of the same year. As of the end of 2022, the company’s network includes 79 retail facilities operating under the “Epicenter” and “New Line” brands in various regions of the country.
As a result of the hostilities, three “Epicenter” shopping centers in Chernihiv, Mariupol and Buchi were completely destroyed. Despite significant losses, the company actively helps the country. To date, 44 infrastructure objects, 58 buildings and structures of educational institutions, as well as 19 health care facilities, including pharmacies, have been damaged in Kherson.
