In occupied Oleshki, Kherson region, people live without water and electricity, and Russian soldiers take away food

The humanitarian situation in temporarily occupied Oleshki on the left bank of the Kherson region remains critical. Local residents have been living without centralized electricity and water supply for several years of Russian occupation, and Russian soldiers, according to eyewitnesses, take away food from people.

This was reported by American journalist Zarina Zabriskie, who lives in Kherson and documents the consequences of the Russian occupation.

Zarina Zabriskie published the testimonies of residents of Oleshki, obtained for security reasons on condition of anonymity.

According to the journalist’s interlocutors, people are forced to collect water from wells. At the same time, in one of the apartment buildings, Russian soldiers blew up the walls between apartments to equip an internal passage for movement without going outside. As a result, the building became uninhabitable, and its residents were effectively left homeless.

Residents also report an acute shortage of food. According to them, six people are forced to share half a liter of goat milk diluted with water, and for lunch – three boiled eggs and two zucchini pancakes for everyone. Flour, cereals and other basic products, according to eyewitnesses, are practically non-existent.

Separately, it is reported that the Russian military is confiscating products that they find from local residents. According to sources, one of the residents planted potatoes, but they were spotted from a drone, after which the Russians took the crop.

Eyewitnesses also claim that due to a lack of supplies, the Russian military is hunting dogs for food. In addition, there is practically no medicine in the settlement.
