In Poltava Region, the railway was damaged due to night shelling, trains are delayed

Fortunately, there were no casualties.

On the night of Sunday, August 4, the railway infrastructure was damaged in the Poltava region as a result of shelling by the Russians, Ukrzaliznytsia reported in the morning.

The company noted that they changed the movement of a number of trains in the Kharkiv direction in order to continue the movement, however, this led to significant delays in the schedule.

Fortunately, despite the damage, there were no casualties or injuries.

“Tracks, catenary network, supports, etc. were damaged. Restorative works have already been carried out, part of the trains have been run with reserve diesel locomotives, and currently the power supply has been almost completely restored,” Ukrzaliznytsia noted.

Railway operators also collect information about passenger transfers in order to organize further journeys.
