In the Kharkiv region, the liquidation of six forest fires that occurred between September 15 and 18 continues.
“The total area of these forest fires is more than 460 hectares. Also, 33.5 hectares of dry grass is burning around the burning forests,” – reports the press service of the main department of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region.
The most recent fire started on the morning of September 18 in the village of Khotimlya of the Starosaltiv community, where the forest floor is burning on an area of 500 square meters.
The largest forest fire in terms of area was recorded on the territory of Vasyshchev Forestry near the village of Vasyshchev Bezlyudivska hromada. It started on September 15 around 7:00 a.m. in four locations. Thanks to the efforts of rescuers of the State Emergency Service and the departmental fire protection of forestry, on September 16 at 7:15 p.m., the fire was contained on a total area of 207.7 hectares. Work on its elimination continues.
As of September 18, four out of six fires have been contained. About 350 rescuers and 74 units of State Emergency Service equipment, as well as 23 units of equipment and more than 50 foresters were involved in their liquidation.
