In the Kherson community, 86% of educational institutions were damaged by shelling

As of April 2024, 86% of educational institutions in the Kherson community were damaged by Russian shelling. 2 schools and 2 kindergartens were also destroyed.

This was announced by the head of the Kherson city military administration, Roman Mrochko.

Also, as a result of the strikes of the Russian army, 130 educational institutions were damaged – that is, 193 buildings and structures, of which 59 are gymnasiums and schools, 71 are kindergartens, 9 are vocational education institutions, and 10 are extracurricular education.

In addition, Russian troops targeted 2 inclusive resource centers.

14 educational institutions were damaged due to the flood caused by the Russian military blowing up the dams of the Kakhovskaya HPP.

Before the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, 151 secondary, preschool, after-school and vocational education institutions worked in the Kherson city-territorial community.

In the Kherson region, 144 schools and 110 kindergartens were damaged or destroyed due to Russian attacks.

The deputy head of the Kherson regional military administration, Volodymyr Klyutsevskyi, said that on September 1, 2024, 15 educational institutions of the Kherson region, which are located at a safe distance from the war zone, can resume full-time work.

In October 2023, the head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration reported that 191 schools are working remotely in the Kherson Oblast: 115 on the right bank, 76 on the left bank.
