In the Kherson region, Russians kidnapped and killed a couple who refused to cooperate with the Russians

In the temporarily occupied Kherson Region, Russian military abducted and killed a couple from the village of Mali Kopani of the Holoprystan community of the Skadovsky district: 26-year-old Anastasia Saksaganska and her 34-year-old husband Valery.

It is noted that the Russians kidnapped a woman and a man from their own house on the night of September 16.

The first information about the death of Anastasia Saksaganska was reported by her colleague Antonina Pshenychna, midwife-gynecologist of the Kherson city perinatal center of the II level named after Z. S. Klymenko.

“On September 15, 2023, Russian soldiers took the young couple Valery and Anastasia Saksagansky from their home in the village of Mali Kopan. Unfortunately, they were mercilessly killed. Their two-year-old daughter Margarita remained an orphan,” the doctor wrote.

In a conversation with a correspondent of the Center for Journalistic Investigations, Antonina Pshenychna added that she had spoken with the relatives of the murdered. They claim that the reason for the abduction was the refusal of Valery and Anastasia Saksagansky to receive a Russian passport and to cooperate with the occupation authorities.

“All their relatives and acquaintances, who remained in the village, went to cooperate. And they did not want to and were killed for it. Anastasia’s body was found near the highway the day after the abduction, and her husband’s body was somewhere in the landing,” the Center for Journalistic Investigations quotes the doctor as saying.

According to reports, the information about the abduction of the Saksagan spouses was also confirmed by sources in the Holopristan City Council of the Center for Journalistic Investigations. According to them, it happened around one o’clock in the morning on September 16 in the village of Mali Kopani. They said that their little daughter, Margarita, was sleeping when the Russian military broke in and took her parents away. The couple’s jeep disappeared with them.

“Recently, the Russians had another rotation, and very brutal Russian soldiers came to the Holoprystan community. They terrorize people, so everyone who can tries not to even go outside. Therefore, it is very difficult to find out exactly what happened to the Saksagansky couple. It is known that Anastasia’s body was found in the village of Radensk, Oleshkiv community. She was shot. Perhaps she, as a wife, stood up for her husband and was killed for it. What happened to Valery is not yet known for sure,” representatives of the Holoprystan City Council said.

As the journalist and editor of the Center for Journalistic Investigations, Oleg Baturyn, noted, the young daughter of the family was left alone at home for about 12 hours after their abduction.
