In the occupied territories of the Kherson region, the Russians forbade local residents to water and plant gardens

All because of the inability to solve the problems with the lack of water.

The Russians forbade residents of the occupied settlements of the Kherson region, located on the coastal territories of the former Kahovsky Reservoir, to plant and water their gardens, the Center for Journalistic Investigations reported. The Russians recognized that they were unable to solve the water supply problem, so they severely limited the supply of water.

In particular, residents of Malokahovka, Kakhovska hromada, told about the ban on planting and watering vegetable gardens. According to them, the Russians have warned that it will be possible to use no more than 2 cubic meters of water per person per month. The Center for Journalistic Investigations explained that this is practically two times less than the Ukrainian norm when calculating subsidies for water supply. At the same time, the number of residents in the region decreased due to Russian aggression.

“Water is now supplied in Malokakhovka for several hours a day. It is possible to take a shower and turn on the washing machine only after midnight – around 1-2 am. Dishwashers do not turn on at all, it is now an absolutely unnecessary thing in the house of those who have them,” said the residents of Malokakhovka.

It is reported that almost the same is happening in neighboring communities. There, the Russians also provide water according to the schedule and forbid planting gardens.

“We are told that the Russians will provide us with vegetables and herbs. But they will not do it every day and for nothing. And where to get money for the same tomatoes, dill and parsley? We always grew something near our house. How can we live without all this now?”, residents of the Kakhovsky district noted.

In their publications, the Russian military constantly writes about schedules for the use of water for irrigation. In particular, in the Kakhovka community, you can water gardens only from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. During the day, Russians allow watering only small plots of land and flower beds.

Last summer, Russians blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP in the Kherson region, killing 32 people and injuring 28 more. And this is only the data collected from the territories controlled by Ukraine. According to the assessment of the Ukrainian government and the UN, the amount of direct damage caused to the infrastructure and assets of Ukraine due to the Russian detonation of the Kakhovskaya HPP is 2.79 billion dollars, and the losses are more than 11 billion dollars.

Already this year, Russian troops struck the Dnipro HPP. And although now, according to Ukrhydroenergo, there is no threat of a dam breach, HPP-2 is in critical condition and it is not known whether it will be possible to restore it. According to director Ihor Syrota, the Russians got into the support and crane beams. As reported in the Prosecutor General’s Office, eight rockets hit the Dniprovskaya HPP.
