The Russians continue to intimidate residents of the temporarily occupied left-bank Kherson region using show trials on trumped-up charges.
In the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region, Russians sentenced 47-year-old Elena Nishanova. The woman was accused of “espionage”.
This was reported by the Russian “Prosecutor’s Office of the Kherson region”.
A resident of the temporarily occupied territories was accused of collecting data on the movement and location of military equipment, as well as personnel of the Russian military, which she passed on to Ukrainian intelligence.
The so-called “court” found Elena Nishanova guilty of espionage and sentenced her to 10 years in a general regime penal colony.
It should be noted that such trials have become a common practice in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region. Recently, another resident of the left bank, Olena Kosenko, received a similar sentence for “espionage.” According to the Russian version, in April 2024, Kosenko, while in the Kherson region, collected data on the movement and locations of Russian military equipment and personnel of the Russian Armed Forces.
