In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russians ban doctors from accessing social networks and using VPN

Due to fears of a leak of data on the number of casualties among the Russian military, doctors of the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region were banned from using social networks, reports the Center of National Resistance.

As stated in the message, due to the attempts of the Russian Federation to advance near Robotyny, the Russian army will suffer significant losses in the direction of Melitopol.

Fearing the disclosure of information about losses among Russians, the Russian special services introduce a number of restrictions. Among which are bans from using social networks such as Facebook and Instagram, as well as YouTube and VPNs. Such an order was brought to the notice of the civilian staff of the hospitals under personal signature. It is reported that violation of the implemented restrictions may lead to the dismissal and prosecution of the direct manager of the medical institution.

The Center of National Resistance believes that an additional reason for such a restriction is an attempt to deprive the local population of access to true and independent information. Implementation of total control of the information space for the occupying power is one of the tasks. After all, the occupation administrations see a significant threat to their existence if people in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region have access to alternative sources of information. Therefore, from which sources this information comes is also a question that worries the occupiers. The ban on social networks is not all the restrictions that the Russians are implementing for local residents in Melitopol.
