Serhii Spartesny is an employee of the ZNPP from Energodar, who has been illegally held captive in terrible conditions since the summer of 2023. He is accused of cooperating with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and training employees of the territorial defense.
During the Russian occupation, his wife Natalia was evacuated, and Serhiy remained in his hometown. In July 2023, the Russians broke into the man’s house: the residence was illegally searched, and Spartesny was taken to the local police station, where he remains to this day.
According to the freed civilian who was held together with Serhii, the Russians accuse the man of allegedly pasting pro-Ukrainian leaflets in Energodar, at the request of SBU employees, he monitored the FSB, was a collaborator with the ZNPP, and trained Teroboronov soldiers.
As reported by the Media Initiative for Human Rights, his wife Natalya rejects all fabricated accusations. The woman suggests that the Russians are keeping her husband in a basement in poor conditions. He knows from his own sources that the clothes of the hostages are covered with mold, they are not taken out for walks. Also, the man has health problems, but he does not receive treatment. In addition, released civilians tell Natalya about torture at the Energodar police station:
“I know they put bags on everyone’s heads, tape them around their necks, and apply electric shocks. I suspect that to my husband, too,” Nataliya Spartesna notes.
The woman appeals to Ukrainian and international bodies and organizations to obtain Serhiy’s release as soon as possible.
We will remind you that earlier we wrote about the fact that the Russians do not carry out the necessary equipment repairs and inspections at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
