Due to the attack of the Russian Federation in the Zhytomyr Region on the morning of November 7, 130,000 consumers were left without electricity, but thanks to the energy companies, people were back with electricity after a few hours.
Oleksiy Sheketa, chairman of the board of Zhytomyroblenergo JSC, said: “It’s no longer a secret that the first test of our energy system took place today: the Russians damaged the networks in the north of our region. At 9:00 a.m., 130,000 consumers were disconnected. But thanks to our prompt work, all consumers have already recovered. Thanks to the sunny weather and the fact that there are solar stations, residents of the north of the region now consume electricity without restrictions. During the period while we have daylight, we will try to bring our main scheme to a normal position, so that by the evening we switch not to reserve sources, but to the main ones”, – says Oleksiy Sheketa, chairman of the board of the Zhytomyroblenergo joint-stock company.
Also, Oleksiy Sheketa spoke about the condition of oblenergo facilities, which were previously damaged due to enemy hits.
“All objects on the territory of the Zhytomyr region have been restored by 100%. In addition, we managed to increase the emergency stock with all our capabilities. This is emergency recovery work, or emergency energy assistance. We have doubled this reserve compared to last year,” said Oleksiy Sheketa, chairman of the board of the Zhytomyroblenergo joint-stock company.
On the eve of winter, everyone is interested in what the situation with light will be, but energy experts do not undertake to make forecasts. And in Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, they remind: there will be power supply facilities that have been recognized as critically important, their list is constantly being adjusted.
“According to the law on critical infrastructure, objects of priority include housing and communal services, in particular heat supply, water supply and drainage. Operators apply directly to the relevant Ministries. Today, 30% of the objects submitted to the Ministries are recognized as critical infrastructure. Cabinet Resolution No. 600 was issued, which instructed the regional military administrations, together with Oblenergo, to compile this list of enterprises included in the register of critical infrastructure, so that they are provided with the supply of energy. Objects are added to the register every month, we adjust these objects every month, and the schedule is adjusted in accordance with this resolution No. 600,” said Tetyana Varema, head of the Department of Housing and Communal Services, Energy Management and Energy Saving of the Department of Regional Development of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration.
