In the city of Toretsk, Donetsk region, the Russians opened fire on three civilians who were in an apartment, killing two of them. The regional prosecutor’s office reported this on November 24.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred on November 21 at 6:00 p.m.
“Representatives of the Russian army once again cynically violated the norms of international humanitarian law. Russian servicemen entered one of the apartments in the residential quarter of Toretsk, where three civilians were. The Russians deliberately opened fire on them from automatic weapons, as a result of which two local residents died on the spot,” the report says.
The prosecutor’s office noted that the man who was next to the women was injured, as well as fractures of the shoulder and collarbone, and “the victim is being provided with qualified medical care.”
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of committing a war crime that caused the death of people (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and investigative (search) actions are being conducted to establish all the circumstances of the incident, the department emphasized.
