In Ukraine, 204 artists and 107 Ukrainian and foreign media workers have died since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.
Journalists currently working in Ukraine create important news, investigations and reports in conditions of increased risk. They record the events of the war in order to provide Ukraine and the world with reliable information about what is happening.
“Media workers collect irrefutable evidence of the crimes of the Russian Federation and highlight the strength, feat and courage of our defenders,” the department noted.
The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications emphasized that systematic crimes against journalists and the media committed by Russia pose a serious threat to freedom of speech and information security, undermine democratic values and human rights, and also called for preserving the memory of the dead.
