Over 23 months of war in Ukraine, 1,523 medical facilities were damaged and another 195 were completely destroyed.
This is reported by the Ministry of Health: “As of the beginning of February 2024, as a result of the full-scale war waged by Russia against Ukraine, 1,523 medical facilities were damaged and another 195 were completely destroyed.”
The Ministry of Health noted that as a result of enemy shelling, medical facilities in Kharkiv Region, Donetsk Region, Mykolaiv Region, Kyiv Region, Chernihiv Region, Dnipropetrovsk Region, Kherson Region and Zaporizhzhia Region suffered the greatest losses. Currently, it is impossible to obtain complete information about Luhansk Region.
Since the beginning of the war, the Russian army has damaged 103 emergency medical vehicles, destroyed 258 vehicles and captured 125 “emergency” vehicles.
At this time, it was possible to completely restore 502 medical facilities, another 362 have been partially rebuilt or are in the process of being restored.
These are primarily medical facilities that have suffered minor damage, such as broken windows or damaged roofs, facades, etc. Most of the restored medical facilities are in Mykolaiv Region, Dnipropetrovsk Region, Kyiv Region, Kharkiv Region, and Chernihiv Region. Restoration work will continue.
In Kharkiv Region, two more dispensaries of the Center for Primary Health Care of the Dergachiv City Council, which suffered significant damage as a result of massive Russian shelling, were restored.
