During the massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine on April 28, a Russian missile hit a high-rise building in Uman, Cherkasy region, destroying the entrance and starting a fire.

Also, the flight was over warehouse buildings in the city.

Due to the actions of the Russian army, ten people died, many were injured. The Cherkasy Regional Military Administration confirmed the hit. The head of the Cherkasy regional military administration, Ihor Taburets, emphasized that there were two hits by Russian cruise missiles in Uman: a residential building and a warehouse building: “We are investigating the consequences. All services are working on the spot. The air alert continues.”

According to the official, as of 06:20 it was known about five victims due to a Russian missile hitting a house in Uman. All of them are hospitalized.

After 07:00, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, clarified that this night Russian war criminals killed three Ukrainians in Uman, eight more people were injured: “They are being given medical assistance. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.”

At 08:40, four victims of the Russian missile attack in Uman were reported: three people were pulled out from under the rubble, one died in the hospital. In addition, 17 people are injured and receiving medical assistance.

“Three children were rescued. Search and rescue operations are ongoing,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

As of 09:00, six people, including a child, have been confirmed dead as a result of rocket fire. Another nine people are in the hospital.

Uman announced a three-day mourning period for those who died as a result of Russian aggression. On the territory of the community, all entertainment events were canceled indefinitely.

Around 09:30, the Minister of Internal Affairs reported seven dead, and after a few minutes the number of victims increased to nine. According to him, the first entrance to the house in Uman was practically destroyed.

Previously, 109 people lived there – 46 apartments, of which 27 were completely destroyed. Klymenko added that it will take a day to sort out the debris.

“Unfortunately, the number of dead in Uman has increased. The rescuers have just retrieved three more bodies of dead Uman citizens from under the rubble. There are a total of 10 victims of Russian aggression as of 10:05 a.m.,” the minister later confirmed.

It is known that two 10-year-old children are among the dead. The victim assistance headquarters works on the spot, people are provided with all the necessary assistance.

After the explosions in Uman during the air alert on the morning of April 28, the former head of the communications sector of the State Police in the region, Zoya Vovk, noted that emergency services, the police and medics were working at the scene. Local residents also helped in rescue operations.

Tragic statistics were updated several times. The chairman of the city, Iryna Pletnyova, announced this.

The first frames from the place of arrival were distributed on the network. They could see a high-rise building engulfed in fire and smoke.

As a result of the impact, one of the entrances of the residential building was destroyed, and windows and balcony frames were broken in the rest. Bricks and fragments of the floor are lying under the entrances.
