
The State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southern District continues to record and document the environmental consequences caused by armed aggression in the territory of Zaporizhzhia region.
Specialists pay special attention to cases of atmospheric air pollution arising from hostilities. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, as of April 2026, inspectors have recorded numerous facts of emissions of pollutants into the air.
The main causes remain artillery shelling and large-scale fires arising from hostilities.
According to experts, the total amount of damage caused to the environment as a result of atmospheric air pollution in the territory of Zaporizhzhia region exceeds 22 billion 932 million 603 thousand hryvnias.
All collected materials and calculations have been transferred to law enforcement agencies for use in criminal proceedings.
In addition, the information was sent to the Operational Headquarters of the State Ecological Inspectorate of Ukraine for further response and coordination of actions.
