In Zaporizhzhia, the cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate was destroyed by a missile strike

In Zaporizhzhia, the cathedral was damaged as a result of a morning attack by Russian troops. This is the St. Andrew’s Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

It is noted that the cathedral was damaged as a result of a blast wave on the morning of January 18.

According to the rector of the church, there were two people in the cathedral at the time of the explosion, they were not injured. The archpriest specified that there was a duty officer and one female parishioner in the church.

The St. Andrew’s Cathedral was seriously damaged as a result of Russian shelling. The ceiling completely collapsed there, the roof survived, but it was dangerous for those in the church. The church decoration and icons were significantly damaged. There is also external damage to the cathedral.
