521 children died in Ukraine due to Russian aggression. More than 1,211 others received injuries of varying degrees of severity.

How many Ukrainian children died because of the war

As of the morning of January 24, 2024, 521 children died in Ukraine due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. More than 1,211 others received injuries of varying degrees of severity.

According to juvenile prosecutors, the most children were affected in the following areas:

Donetskа — 504 children,

Kharkivskа — 325 children,

Khersonska — 146 children,

Kyivska — 130 children,

Dnipropetrovskа — 111 children,

Mykolayivska — 101 children,

Zaporizhzhia — 100 children,

Chernihivska — 72 children,

Luhanskа — 67 children.

“These numbers are not final. Work is ongoing to establish them in the places of hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories,” the message says.

Only on January 23, an 8-year-old girl died in Kharkiv due to Russian shelling. Nine more children, aged from three to 17, were injured.

And in Kyiv, six children aged 14 to 17 were injured due to Russian attacks.
