The Center for Journalistic Investigations found out the details of the Russian murder of three civilian men in Kokhany on the left bank of the Kherson region.
Oleksandr Karpus, Oleksandr Golenkov and Mykola Voznov became victims of the Russians.
Journalists of the Center for Journalistic Investigations contacted the relatives of the murdered Oleksandr Karpus and found out what he knew about this tragedy.
According to him, it happened on March 14. The men gathered in the evening together, but how many there were and what happened next is unknown. Later they were found shot dead.
“The village of Kohany died after being flooded by water due to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP. Maybe 10-12 people remained in it. There is no connection with the village for a long time, there is no mobile phone reception there. The bodies of the murdered lay there for three days, because no one wanted to go and pick them up. “The ambulance” also refused to go there,” said the relative of the murdered man.
The bodies of those killed are now in Skadovsk, in the morgue. The Russians are not releasing them yet, citing “investigative actions.”
“After the village was flooded, Oleksandr saved people and they are grateful to him for that. Many people left there later and Oleksandr took care of their houses. He himself loved these places so much that he never dared to leave, although we constantly persuaded him to do so. Recently, those who remained in the village settled in summer houses upstairs, where water did not reach. Their owners didn’t mind, because it was less likely that their houses would be looted. This was done by the Russian military themselves. From the first days of flooding, they broke into garages and apartments and took everything they saw. Washing machines, furniture, and the houses themselves were also washed away with water,” he said.
Oleksandr Karpus, about 45 years old, comes from nearby Kardashinka, but often visited Kokhany. The second person killed was Mykola Voznov, a local. He grew roses, had greenhouses, like most of his fellow villagers.
The third person killed is Oleksandr Golenkov, approximately 40 years old. He is not a local, he once came to Kherson Oblast from another region to earn money, and he stayed in the Holoprystan community. Here he worked in greenhouses.
“Both Mykola and Oleksandr Golenkov are ordinary guys. They are civilians, simple workers,” said a relative of one of the killed.
On March 20, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office announced the beginning of a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with the deliberate killing of three civilians in the village of Kohany, Skadovsky district.
According to the Russian mass media, on suspicion of this murder, the Russians detained two servicemen of military unit 11843, previously convicted Oleksiy Bulelin and Muntyan Tarasenko. Both of them are from the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation.
