Russian occupation forces shelled Kherson and the region 38 times over the past day.
Peaceful settlements suffered from attacks from MLRS, mortars and artillery, as a result of enemy strikes, two people were injured, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reports.
In particular, the invaders attacked Kherson itself 9 times, hit the residential quarters of the city, the medical facility and residential buildings were damaged due to shelling.
Reports of attacks by the occupiers on Kherson are received daily: in particular, numerous shelling of the city was recorded on February 12.
We will also remind you that on February 10, Russian terrorists fired more than a hundred rockets on the territory of Ukraine.
However, the Armed Forces will continue to “minus” the aggressors: as of today, the total losses of the aggressor state since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine amount to almost 140,000 military personnel.
The enemy from the temporarily occupied territory of the region is constantly shelling the city. As a result of the arrival of enemy shells at night, fires broke out in Kherson and its surroundings. They were liquidated by rescuers, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.
A residential building was on fire in Antonivka, a shell hit its roof. Another house caught fire in Kherson.
In the morning of February 15, the fire broke out after the garage cooperative was shelled. All fires were successfully liquidated by employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The enemy continues to shell civilian houses in the Kherson region. Almost every day there is information about the dead or injured.
Yuriy Sobolevskyi, the first deputy chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, told about it. The enemy also left mines and unexploded ammunition in the Kherson region after the retreat.
Sobolevskyi said that the complete restoration of the railway line in Kherson Oblast, which was damaged as a result of Russian shelling, is expected today.
The enemy is hitting residential buildings
The Kherson Regional Council reported that the enemy mainly attacks residential buildings, most of the time they fly into residential buildings. Humanitarian facilities and the city’s critical infrastructure are also suffering. In fact, every day we have casualties and injuries, – Sobolevskyi added.
Sobolevsky about the situation in Kherson
Mine danger
A mine threat remains in Kherson region. A large number of unexploded mines and ammunition remained on the territory of the region. The safety of Kherson residents largely depends on their caution and attentiveness, the regional council emphasized.
Sobolevskyi once again called on the citizens not to approach dangerous objects and to move outside the population centers exclusively on well-known and proven routes.
We will remind that on February 12, a car with civilians blew up on a mine left by the Russian military.
The enemy is shelling Kherson: what is known
British intelligence explained why the Russians are shelling the de-occupied Kherson region. The commanders probably aim in part to demoralize the civilian population and deter any Ukrainian counterattacks across the Dnipro River.
On February 3, the Russians hit the “Epicentr” store, and a fire broke out on the spot. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
On February 2, the occupiers shelled the city 7 times. As a result of shelling, private houses, a school building were damaged, and a gas pipe was broken.
In Stepanivka, Kherson region, Russians kidnapped a local woman during the occupation.
This was reported by the regional police. The invaders kidnapped a 31-year-old woman at the end of October 2022. The further fate of the hostage is unknown. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
Ukrainian law enforcement officers recorded new cases of Russian looting in the Kherson region.
This was reported by the regional police.
During the occupation, Russian invaders stole money from an ATM in the Berislav district. Property of the gas company was also stolen in Visokopyla.
The Russians damaged the remaining property with shelling. In Kherson during the occupation, the invaders stole cars.
Also in July 2022, Russian invaders in Kherson ransacked the office of a company for the production of machines and equipment.
12 laptops, computers and office furniture were stolen from the office. In the Kherson district, Russians stole a truck from a resident of Stanislav.
Later, the invaders dismantled the stolen car and dumped it in the area of Bilozerka.
Even in the Kherson district, the Russian occupiers stole a specialized car for the provision of medical assistance in the Veliko Kopaniv community.
A pre-trial investigation is ongoing into the facts of Russian looting.
In September 2022, Russians stole three orphans who were being treated in a regional children’s hospital. The children were 3, 6 and 9 months old.
Natalya Lyutikova, head of the department for the treatment of infants, says that on the eve of September 1, a Moscow official came to the hospital to “take care” of the children, accompanied by the director of the regional Children’s House.
“She asked to show her these babies – she kept asking whether these children were good or not disabled. After examining the children, I was completely satisfied,” says Natalya Lyutikova and adds that the head of the Children’s Home called her that same evening and asked if it was possible to discharge the children.
The head of the department refused, citing the fact that their condition does not yet allow this.
“Since then, she (the director of the Children’s Home) called me almost every day, saying that the children were selected to be taken to Moscow for examination and treatment. My persuasions about the fact that the children do not need any examination did not work,” Lyutikova recalls.
One of the evenings – at approximately 18:30 – the doctor on duty called her and said that he had received an order from the acting chief doctor – these three children should be sent to the Children’s Home.
The next day, Natalya Lyutikova says, based on the words of the Children’s House workers, the babies were taken away. Their fate remains unknown.
We will remind that before retreating from Kherson, the occupiers took orphaned children to the territories under their control and to Russia under the guise of evacuation. Some Kherson doctors tried to prevent this by adopting babies and simulating the plight of babies.
In general, as previously reported by the representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the Russians took 46 pupils of the Children’s Home to one of the camps in Crimea.
