On the night of February 24-25, Russians attacked Kostyantynivka. Fortunately, there were no casualties. At the same time, the Russians targeted a number of civilian objects, including the train station of Kostyantynivka, according to Ukrzaliznytsia: “Among other civilian infrastructure facilities, the railway station of Konstantinovka station was completely destroyed. The station has been out of service for a long time, not accepting trains and not serving passengers.”

It is also noted that before the full-scale invasion, Kostiantynivka was the terminus of more than ten long-distance trains and more than 15 suburban trains. The building itself also had historical and artistic value.
At the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, the station in Kostiantynivka became an important point of evacuation for the population of Donetsk region.
In 2023, the Russians launched a missile attack on the market in Kostiantynivka, killing 16 local residents.
