Kyiv residents on the left bank of the city live without electricity and heat for the fifth day

For the fifth day now, some residents on the left bank of the capital have been forced to live in extremely difficult conditions — without heating, electricity, and in some places even without water.

Due to accidents and the consequences of massive attacks, Kyiv’s power system has suffered serious damage, and in some areas it has still not been possible to restore a stable supply of resources.

People are trying to adapt to the cold conditions, using additional sources of heat or moving to relatives where the situation is better.

Local residents say that the temperature in their apartments has dropped to a critical level, so they have to sleep in several layers of clothing and use candles or flashlights.

To recharge their phones, laptops, and power banks, residents go to invulnerability points, which are open around the clock.

In these temporary centers, you can not only recharge your equipment, but also warm up with a hot tea and chat with others who have found themselves in a similar situation.

According to energy experts, restoring power supply in the city is complicated by large-scale damage to the energy infrastructure, which requires time for repair and coordination between several services.

Some workers have to be brought in from neighboring regions, as the damage is systemic.

Kyiv residents are asked to conserve resources and be understanding of temporary difficulties, since the main thing is to ensure safety and avoid new accidents.
