Life under shelling – how people live in front-line Orichiv in Zaporizhzhia

Orihiv is a front-line settlement in the Zaporizhzhia region, which suffers from Russian shelling almost every day. At the same time, a large number of people continue to stay in the city and are not going to leave their homes.

As you can see in the released footage, there is not a single building left in Orihiv that was not damaged by Russian shelling. The settlement suffers from enemy attacks almost every day.

A large part of the locals, who do not want to leave their homes, are forced to live in basements. They say that it was cold in winter, besides, there is not always electricity. However, they all hope that everything will end soon and continue to believe in the victory of Ukraine.

​ “Honestly. I think everything will be fine and we will return to our hometown. Our city is the best,” said one of the local women.

On February 28, the Russians carried out 250 strikes on nine settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. The local authorities received 30 reports about the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure facilities.
