Lithuania will send a note of protest to Belarus
Lithuania will send a note to Belarus after a drone flew into Lithuanian airspace at night and was shot down by Italian fighter jets, the head of the country’s Foreign Ministry, Kyastutis Budrys, said.
“In all cases when there is a violation of the airspace, we receive a message from the Air Force about when, where and what happened. In all cases, we prepare a note and send it to the country from where, say, the plane or other object arrived. In this case, we are talking about Belarus,” Budrys said.
According to the data of Kyastutis Budrys, the final origin of the drone will be established after studying the wreckage. Lithuania has already informed its allies about the incident and invited consultations in the European Union and NATO.
