Lukashenko speaks of war with Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland

Lukashenko has once again resorted to intimidating his Western neighbors. During a visit to the Minsk district on October 12, he stated that economic cooperation with Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia could help “avoid war.” At the same time, he lamented that reaching an agreement has so far proven difficult.

“We need to cooperate with our neighbors—with the Poles, the Lithuanians, and the Latvians. In the current situation, where Europe is facing food supply problems due to the drought, we need to gradually cooperate with them. Neighbors are neighbors. When we move beyond merely staring at each other through gun sights and begin to cooperate economically, it suggests that we might just manage to avoid war,” the dictator declared.

In effect, Lukashenko signaled that war with his NATO neighbors remains a real scenario for him.
