Mass abduction of people: what is happening in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region

In the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian occupying forces continue to abduct civilians. Someone was released after three days, someone was bought out by relatives, and someone was deported.

Ivan Fedorov, the chairman of Melitopol, announced this.

Over a year and a half of occupation, more than 1,000 residents of Melitopol were captured. Currently, more than 500 people are being held by the Russian military.

A few weeks ago, Russians abducted people en masse in the temporarily occupied Mykhailivka. The Russian military took entire streets away from civilians. Some of them were bought by their relatives, and some are still in Russian captivity. The same is happening in the temporarily occupied Melitopol.

“The day before yesterday, local residents reported that in the center of Melitopol, near the central market, Russian military and police officers stopped a car. They pulled out and put the driver on the road, and then took him prisoner, despite the fact that he was with his wife and his family,” says Ivan Fedorov.

According to the chairman of Melitopol, the abduction of civilians by the Russian military is one of the main reasons why they advise people to leave the temporary occupation.
